Our dream for Berry UPDATED!

2015

Big Kids Pants has been sponsoring an awesome 14 year old boy in Indonesia for the past two years. He writes frequently, telling us about his life.

This is done through Tear Fund, an amazing organisation who help so many around the world. Early last year we were devastated to hear that Berry's Father had died suddenly, leaving Berry and his Mum struggling to meet daily needs.

After discussing the situation with Tear Fund we found out that Berry's Mum has a dream to set up a small business so that she can support them. The total cost for this is just over $1000 NZ. So for the next while we will be donating all profits to this fund.

In order for us to do this we need to keep selling pants and getting the word out there! So please share this site with your friends and family

Update 2023

It's been a while since we updated, and a lot has happened in Berry's life since this photo. Big Kids Pants was able to sponsor him through his college years and then on to Nursing School in Indonesia, where he worked hard for three years, living away from home and becoming qualified as a nurse.  During this time we kept in touch with letters.

In 2020 Tear Fund asked if they could interview me and it was a huge surprise that they had organised a surprise Zoom call - with Berry (at Nursing college), his Mum and the local sponsorship coordinator ( in his village) and me!  We talked at length via an interpreter and there were tears and laughter as we connected in person for the first time. Berry had even learned a song on the guitar and sang it for me.
